## Definition

Guidelines issued by the German Federal Financial Supervisory Authority (BaFin) in December 2005 relating to the organization of credit operations (best practices) based on Section 25a, Paragraph 1 of the German Banking Act (KWG). They apply to all credit institutions in Germany, while the qualitative and quantitative minimum requirements of the Basel II internal rating systems apply only to banks that apply them. A corresponding EU directive has been binding since the beginning of 2007. - See due diligence, Internal Capital Adequacy Assessment Process, capital requirements, economic, monitoring.
