## Definition

The annual rent per square meter divided by the price of the rental property per square meter and adjusted by a regular ten percent markup for acquisition costs. The rental yield is an important criterion for assessing the real estate market and is monitored by the central bank because the construction industry is characterized by considerable advance inputs. - See loan-to-value, concrete gold, commercial real estate, mortgage debt, real estate bubble, real estate prices, real estate assets, vacancy rate, rent, real estate investment trust, asset prices, home ownership, two-pillar principle. - Cf.
