## Definition

A fee paid by an exhibitor to the organizer of a sample fair or trade fair. To this day, this is usually charged in the form of stall money. - In Catholic churches, this is a payment to the clergyman for - celebrating a mass for the congregation; in many poor countries, it has been the only income a priest receives at all, or - commemorating a particular intention of a living person during the celebration of mass, or praying especially for the repose of the soul of a dead person. The fee is also called Mass stipend (offering for a Mass, Mass stipend), and the church authorities (dioceses, episcopal conferences) have issued appropriate regulations about its amount and purposes. - In the case of a special mass celebration - for example, the use of an orchestra or a choir, as is not uncommon today for a bridal mass or a jubilee service - the client is charged for the costs incurred, or an appropriate advance payment must be made by the client. A solemn bridal mass (church wedding embodied into Holy Mass) can currently cost up to 10,000 EUR with thirty participants. This includes the musicians' and singers' fees, coat money, compensation for loss of wages for participants, travel, food and lodging expenses, and insurance fees. - See indulgence money, official money, annuities, memorial money, dispensational money, cathedral money, candle money, church money, ringing money, merrymaking fee, market money, memorial money, music money, offering money, palliative money, St. Peter's penny, penal money, procuration money, stipend, dance concession money.
