## Definition

Euro Interbank Offered Rate: The interest rate on the European interbank money market, more precisely: the average interest rate at which a prime bank is willing to lend funds in EUR to another prime bank. Changes in this rate reflect - expectations regarding the future minimum bid rate as the lowest rate at which counterparties can bid in the variable rate tender procedure - but also changes in the trust relationship between institutions. - EURIBOR is published daily by the ECB and its trend is also shown in the annex "Euro area statistics" (under the heading "Financial markets"). - See credit quality, densities, risk-neutral, Eurepo, EONIA, EU Banking Association, LIBOR, rating, sentiment, TIBOR. - Cf. ECB Monthly Bulletin of December 2002, p. 29 f., ECB Monthly Bulletin of February 2008, p. 83 (information content of EURIBOR for monetary policy), ECB Monthly Bulletin of October 2013, p. 78 f.
