## Definition

Printed final documentation published in 1959 of the findings of a committee set up by the British government in April 1957 with the task of investigating the working of the monetary and credit system. The report volume itself is accompanied by four volumes of evidence. - The Radcliffe Report was praised by some as an excellent analysis of financial markets, and criticized by others as the greatest waste of resources of the century. The latter judgment is probably related to the fact that, given the extremely rapid changes in the financial market as a whole and in all its subsectors, such a comprehensive snapshot cannot be very meaningful.
