## Definition

The claim that an inflationary push occurred as a result of the introduction of euro cash on January 1, 2000; with the real economic consequence that private households became more cautious in their spending behavior. - In reality, price increases were related to higher taxes on energy, tobacco products and insurance; in addition, beastly cold winter weather prevailed. Only in a few cases were there price exaggerations, but these were sooner or later reduced by competition in the relevant submarkets. - To claim - which happened in many cases - that the newly introduced money by itself led to changes in price relations is, of course, completely nonsensical (is quite absurd). When the meter measure was introduced in Germany in 1870, the measured objects did not become smaller or larger either. - Thousand euro, often is written then also in German TEuro. - See Europhobia, money abolition, goods, purchase frequent, inflation, perceived, neuro, housing rents, currency denomination. - Cf. Monthly Report of the Deutsche Bundesbank, January 2004, p. 15 ff. Attention: The financial encyclopedia is protected by copyright and may only be used for private purposes without express consent!
