## Definition

In older documents, someone who sells mining shares to raise the necessary funds for the development and/or operation of a mine. The word "kränzler" is derived from "kränzeln": to move about in the country. - While the Kuxkränzler was usually a person sworn in by the authorities, this did not apply to the Kuxpartierer. The latter was a person who, above all, fraudulently sold the mining claims of non-existent mines, but who also wheedled highly sought-after mining claims away from naïve owners at a ridiculously low amount (give-away price). Partierer = here: Fraudster, fence (chat: one who deceives or defrauds). - See stockbroker.
