## Definition

The strike price of an option is adjusted to the price of the underlying for the following period when certain prices of the underlying are reached. Any intrinsic value is locked in. - As the writer of a ladder option, you owe the buyer the highest lock-in amount. It must therefore be expected that the lock-in amount is significantly greater than the intrinsic value of the option on the expiration date. - See Option, laddered.
