## Definition

A term that emerged after 2005 to describe the fact that the German (export) economy - is becoming increasingly dependent on trade with China, - China will also become Germany's most important trading partner in the future, and - this will have a variety of effects on the financial market as well. - Whether this is actually the case is disputed. In any case, in 2013 France, the Netherlands and the USA were still Germany's most important trading partners; only then followed by China. - See China euphoria. - Cf. (potential growth in China; overviews), ECB Monthly Report of January 2014, pp. 91 et seq. (internationalization of the Chinese currency; detailed presentation; many overviews).
