## Definition

A body of six independent experts set up jointly by the European Parliament, the Council of Ministers of the EU and the EU Commission in 2005 with the task of - critically monitoring the Lamfalussy process on the harmonization of laws in the EU's financial markets, - reporting on it to the EU institutions on an ongoing basis, and also - informing the public. The reports can be viewed on the Internet. The final report of October 2007 contains a general assessment of the Lamfalussy process and its performance as well as a number of additional recommendations. - Cf.
